AMP crews provide support with storm restoration

August 16, 2024 – Cleveland Public Power crews received a helping hand from American Municipal (AMP) member utilities Hudson, Orville and Wadsworth to restore the more than 34,000 CPP customers who lost power following the Tuesday, August 8 storm.

Cleveland Public Power Commissioner Ammon Danielson said, “The crews from Hudson, Orville, and Wadsworth administered aid through some of the toughest days of restoration, climbing poles, setting poles, fighting through downed trees, and re-stringing wires. On behalf of CPP and all of our customers, we thank each of them for their hard work when we needed it most.”

AMP is s a nonprofit corporation that owns and operates electric facilities with the purpose of providing generation, transmission and distribution of electric power and energy to its Members.

AMP prides itself in helping others, stating on its website, “Be it a tornado, snow or ice storm, flood or fire, participants in this program stand ready to assist participating communities.”
